Pretty good turnout last weekend for Master Chai. Lots of combinations focusing on working inside for control and elbows, with the usual assortment of poke knees. New to us was the addition of the check to the end of the 4-Count. Instructors in attendance were Dan Burke, Leonard Trigg, Jeremy Wijers, Derek Dockery, Tammy Sanchez, Andy Wilson, Steve Wilson, Bruce Raymer, Sean Haley, Mike Walrath and Jeff Patterson. Professor Trigg brought 3 of his fighters by on Sunday: Molly, ranked #3 professionally, and 2 brothers, one an International Golden Gloves champ and the other a regional champ. The one expected test did not happen because the testee began projectile vomiting, eventually was taken to the hospital, and was found to have a strain of E-coli, and stayed in there until Tuesday afternoon. Monday morning Master Chai, I and Jeremy went up to check out Silver Falls. Aside from the normal bear & cougar warnings, the building has been freshly painted, the lounge chairs now removed. We then went by Bruce Raymer's house to discuss building new showers because the old ones are behind all of our equipment in the storage shed, having not been used for 3 years. All in all, an eventful weekend for everyone. Master Chai asked me to warn all the new people coming to the camp, and all those veterans who have driven up in the past, that most martial artists die in car crashes and that the road from Salem to Silver Falls is very dangerous.

I'm glad to hear the seminar went well. I'd noticed the new check thing in MN too, and I also noticed that instead of pounding out a lot of blitz drills (though they were still there!) Ajarn focused more on teaching technique. Our one-legged guy appreciated that. He just started and he can't jog for cardio, so the endurance stuff was tough for him. He's so funny! He calls himself lazy but he comes in 7 days a week! He really enjoyed Ajarn's seminar, all our guys did!
