please don't say kicking tires...I've seen it work, only where I live, some people might use snow tires...could you IMAGINE the damage a stud would do to your shin?

buying a bunch of foam bedding stuff and wrapping it around a tree could work...like a pole bag. But I'd use ALOT of padding if you ever wanted to kick the thing hard...the last thing I need would be a broken shin.

just though of something...is it bad for a trainer to tell his fighter before a fight "break a leg?"...I guess so long as the fighter doesn't start thinking about his getting broken.

One of the best ways is to kick yourself in the head. Ensure that your shin connects directly with the bridge of your own nose.

If you get a briused shin then you can still practice by kicking yourself somewhere a little softer, like your balls or your throat.

a self-kick to the head takes a little flexibility...a knee on the other hand...

my head's probably not that hard. I have found that the self knee before bed helps to cure my insomnia...although I wake up feeling hung-over.

can't really reach my ear with my elbow, man...more of a forearm thing.

                    a hard left hook works.
