yeah lol i had wondered at that, for some reason we think its acceptable when we go there.
However hes a really nice guy fluent in english and very technical. His opinion is he doesnt want to become a commercial gym. He likes it quiet. Which is fair enough, would be easier to brand it as a non-commercial gym but that does basically mean you exclude foreigners.
He will take on those that find their way to him, he asked me to promise to not tell people where his gym is to avoid an influx. his gym, his rules i guess.

I've been in Thailand for just over 6 months now. When I was in the UK I used to train and teach in the Manchester area. That is where Master Sken is from.

This is nice to hear actually. Thailand has become very commercial now and it nice to hear that not everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and trying to make money from us. I think you know where i am coming from. Thai price and Farang price.

Ah yeah couldnt remember if it was manchester or Birminham, my lineage, if you want to call it that is from master toddy, but yeah i did the circuit of the regular commercial gyms, some of them are shit hot though and i would still recommend them.
Now i get virtually private tuition off sangtienoi now and i cant really beat that anywhere else.
Have fun in thailand, its a good but sometimes frustrating place.

I wonder what would happen if you would use this as justification back home. I bet you would get press attention from every continent.

yeah you would i agree, its from a dislike of foreigners its a dislike of the change in atmosphere it would bring ,which is fair enough and it feels totally different his gym, but you are right it would cause a storm.

i don't think MT would be a good MA for anyone with any health condition, it is a very brutal unforgiving "art". maybe you should go with something less harsh?

um...ignore this guy. Work to the best of your ability, consult your physician...they'd probably know a little bit better.

I know where you are coming from. However this is a stigma that has become attached to MT. Unfortunately this "brutal" side continues to be glorified. However if you train all aspects of MT you will see it's not true and find it life changing. You just need to find yourself a good school, as long as you seek advice for your medical conditions and inform your instructor you will be fine.
