Yes, you must do a Muay Thai kick over and over ... Repetative ... before you even really feel the POWER.

Did you see the Video on YouTube??

kicks are slow, lack power but most noticeably poor technique.

Not having a go but bad hip rotation, lack of pivoting on your supporting foot, you arent turning your heel over properly before point of impact, your chins up too high, asking for a knockout adn your hand position is all over the place.

Sorry but this video should be labelled how NOT to do a thai round kick. There isnt one bit of the technique that is correct.

Ghost your maybe being a bit harsh judging DocThais kick against Paowrits who has done that kick since being 7/8 years old and is a lump lighter!.

Doc is on the right lines in training the kick,ok he does need to rotate, drive and cover more but with concentration on each point and training the kick as he is it will improve.

Hope your well Ghost,im in Thailand next week, maybe buy you a beer if your around?

This is the essense of padwork in thailand, they dont spar so heavily but the padman attacks them and they have to react, so its like a sparring session with the padman.

The padmen are so experienced they can actually catch shots thrown by the fighers, so the padman isnt always feeding the shots to the fighters, sometimes its the other way around.

If you watch that carefully you can see some of the work is the padman catching what the fighter throws and defending against the padman.

Thats a big part of a skilled padman catching the shots from the boxer as opposed to calling them, its better for the boxer though as it lets him set up his own rhythm, takes a lot of working together from the pad man and the boxer to gain this skill.

Ghost sorry to hear you have had a problem, hope it gets sorted quick mate.

I thought the first clip was ok. Better than some, but needs to cover his jaw more. looked like better rotation on the bag than on the pads- but then the holder needs to get the pads up more vertically so he has the opportunity to turn over rather than kick straight up. Only other thing would be to make sure he doesn't drop his hands between combinations. Bad habit to get into~ hands don't come down till you bow out of your round.
