I cant comment on the benifits of using weights, better nutrition etc etc to make a better fighter, all i do know is that the regime they have in Thailand now works now,and that there are no fighters of any other country that can compete with the thais at stadium level in the lighter weights ie 48-54 kgs,the rest is hypothetical until some one comes along and proves it consistantly, not saying that it cant be done, just that it hasnt been done.
    Hey Brother,

I think the focus of this thread, and possibly Ghost's assertions are, can it be done as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle?

No doubt in my mind that if you want to bring it down to the hardcore efficiency, the Thai's have proved time and time again that they have it.

But I think what we are talking about here is who has the most balanced approach. Thats kind of where I was coming from.

I noticed the same effect back when I was training in BJJ, while i don't have a schedule near as rigorous as some of the people here I definitely noticed improvement in my technique after a break such as a vacation.

Maybe the lessons are absorbed more rapidly while you have time to step back and analyse things from a broader perspective?

you never wanna overdo it, if you do, your immune system suffers, your testosterone levels go down, and if you have a woman you won't be able to "perform" as well of you're too tired.
