Bag Issues

Happy New Year guys and gals!

I have recently moved into a nicer place that is without any structural support for my 100# Thai bag. I have been looking into those corner stands found all over the net, but most do not look tall enough for a Thai Bag.
Any help and/or suggestions, as I am sure I am not the only one that has run into this issue.

Actually, my bag stand which I got from Dicks Sporting goods is tall enough for a thai Bag. I think.

If not, get a bag stand and switch to a conventional heavy bag which you can get in 100lbs, 150lbs and up. I love my bag stand. I used to have my heavy bag mounted to the ceiling but I grew uncomfortable with that after reading serveral articles in martial arts periodicals.

Be sure to buy a heavy duty spring for your bag to increase the life of your bag stand. You can get the spring at martial arts supply stores online.

I'm all for improvising. You can often save yourself some CASH by building things yourself.

Can you strap your bag to any sort of post or pole or wall corner etc?,

My students and myself developed a lot of power in our round kicks when we strapped a 6 foot bag to a pole.

Me too, but I am not too handy I must admit. Plus no tools.

Good call on the pole idea, but alas....no. I have been using a BOB, but it is not the same.
I did not know Dicks sold bag stands. Perhaps I should go check one out there.
