Georges question seems like a good starting point to prove your "authenticity" SJMT,so who was your teacher of "Muay Boran"?.

Thai arts tend to have a certain flavour,a certain rhythmn,i dont see these in your clips,I only see average technique, and as for the kick power you show Ive seen 12 year old kids in camps in Thailand kick much harder..have you?.

It has been quite easy to impress people that have never experienced the real thing, however more people are spending more time in Thailand now learning Modern Muay Thai and Muay Chaiya etc so its going to come up that people such as me start to question people we see on the net that we belive have little or no background in the Thai Arts.

The reason this subject irks me so much is that I have spent more than 30 years studying Thai Martial Arts and Massage including 2.5 years in Thailand in total and I hate to see people get the wool pulled over their eyes and taught the arts I love incorrectly.

I will be the first to appologise to you in this case if you can prove your background is legit.

I've spent the last 15 years (my entire adult life) training under Kru Suuan Nirmalya Bhowmick, co-founder of USMTA. here are his credentials - USMTA-DIRECTORY Fourth name down the list of regional directors.

My training is for combat, not sport so whether a child kicks harder than me or if I'm missing that special rhythm, fine. My goal with the videos is not to impress or build a brand for myself. I'm not trying to get onto expert village.

Responding to forum threads is an exercise in futility, as there will always be a critic. Please believe what you like, the Muay Thai Academy International (the oldest muay thai school in North America - 20 yrs) has an open door policy, please feel free to visit and see for yourself how we train if you're truly concerned about people like me disgracing your art.

        Thanks for the reply sir,

I fully belive that you have trained with your teacher for 15 years and that you belive in him and what he teaches(a admirable trait),however because the website you directed me to does not actually give your teachers full background I am still not fully convinced that what you are teaching is a ancient way of Muay Thai.

Most students/teachers of Muay Thai are only to happy to show off their lineage in the art(as you are),mine for example is from my teacher Narong Sudsavart whos teacher in turn was Pol Prapadaeng.

Seen as I am based in the UK and dont get to the states much at all I wont be able to visit your academy in the near future but thanks for the offer.

Above and beyond the actual questions, it just remains what is there is not good nor validated by any authentic training though you might deem that unimportant from your posts. Watching a dvd and copying stuff or making things up or learning from people who make things up is ok, long as you state it as such. Its really a very simple matter, just provide some detail who taught you or your teacher the techs, etc.

Likewise you are invited up to thailand to meet with the top military trainers and old style teachers who have been doing so for more years than your school has been open and they can clear you up on authencity, combat, etc.

Nirmalya made up his own system of teaching and training and he might be good at it but it has nothing to do with military muay thai, lerd rit, muay chaiya and those systems. Even nirmlaya would be the first to admit that. Its just evident if you see these systems and see what you are doing its night and day, plain and simple. I mean come on at some point there has be some truth to it all. combat and such is about truth.

If there are any teachers and years of training in thailand that can be checked and validated please send them here or PM me.

i will have to agree with george here. i have been to the new warrior websit eand watched all of donnies videos and they are mediocre at best. your balance is off and what you teach is impractical. and if you are an advocate of chaiya like you claim then put up a new video of you teaching chaiya, as we have a few chaiya guys here and then lets see what you are all about. i personally am training in ucta kun khmer(pradal serey) and it is very close to muay and not close to whatever ithat was in your video. i mean if you are at a distance to throw a bent leg kick you might as well just throw the knee it would land harder with greater effect. i think the main problem here is we are not understanding your logic and your mechanics are way off. thats just mythought though, i know nothing.
