I had to read the old posts again and also around the net, it really is like kru Praeng is the one and only. Like he was the only one having studied under kru Tong. In Thailand they just say "mai pen rai" about these kind of situations and keep working because that's their job.
Praeng did even try making trouble to my teacher (and also to others as I found out) because he too studied with kru Tong, but he couldn't care less and even respects Praeng, he never said a bad word about him and kept on working without claiming this and that; not even privately with his students. There are other teachers who really are humble and don't pretend to be so because they just work and that's all they do!! I mean the big claims and politics are just not even in the horizon for them.
If Praeng was in the west I am sure the situation for him would be very, very different.

but it pales in comparison to my time spent actually being there. Watching Kru Preang's students fight in MMA bouts in Thailand or in Baan Kru Preang training with the man himself, the dvd is kind of like a teaser compared to the aforementioned.

And now this. I would like to know where kru Praeng learned wrestling and BJJ because you have to know at least one of these arts to compete in MMA.

I agree with George this forum is great, I learned new things too and met people and my teacher in Thailand through it and keep reading interesting stuff. I can say I was lucky not to end up with the many egocentric claim-mongers who infest martial arts!

Its all a mass distortion, if you have been awhile in thailand, you would have seen the problems evolve. They are desperately trying to rope in foreigners to spread the art but specifically under each teachers banner, if one guys does a movie, the other rushes to do the same, one is in a book, the other tries to duplicate it.....its only childish nonsense and also nothing we havent seen before in other arts. but our being educated especially in europe and the us, seeing this type of shit with other arts, saw that in the end it never benefited the students or the system, just belittled it and made it something people would avoid.

My point is there is no vendetta against praeng or whoever but i see it as a lack of respect from what is being spread in thai and behind closed doors is another matter most gullible foreigners roped into their cults and I do use the word cult because you can see how they write::::: someone sent me to do this message of endorsement(but i never checked to see if there was any truth to it)..my teacher told me so, so therefore it is. The systems were made to fight like muay thai, and not to be these dead systems like they have made them to sell to people. It doesnt take too much intelligence to see that and see the manipulations.

all one has to do is exam the situation and do some research within thailand and the truth will come out little by little. Thats all, just invest time into examining things before getting lost in the maze of alice in chaiya wonderland.

easiest safest bet is to try eventually to get to v as we talked about and have him give you the details of the when and where and the setup with the promoter, there might be other things as well to compete in along the way like in burma, and other places for those type of events.................

Sorry if this sounds obvious but to Fight on the border you need experience! most of the Thai fighting there have had a hell of a lot of fights already, also Tenzen your a big guy and most Thai and Burmese boxers are not so big so it may be hard to get a match for you(maybe againstanother Foriegner).

Not trying to steal your dream bro just things you may want to keep in mind.

They like the spectacle at the border, and you should have exeperience though with some bouts under your belt because the burmese are crazy as fighters, but when the americans fought the last time despite that they said no they outweighed their burmese opponents by a lot. But i do agree you dont want to go into that wild affair with too minimal fighting experience.

oh i wasnt thinking in the near future i was looking more down the road a few years. i have seen alot of their fights they are really wild and extremely tough. i like lone chaw. but yeah it wasnt something i was looking at doing next year or anything just something in the future. im not that big 5'9-5'10 200lbs. not that big. at least i dont think so, everyone in my weight class is bigger than i am, but yeah your right they are fairly small over there.

well now thinking about it 200lbs is alot to them too. but im short so it looks like more than it is. i look really big until i stand up ha ha then everyone looks down to me. i think i lived in places where there were no growth hormones being pumped in the water thus i am short. or it could just be that my parents were short. but yeah i got your point. i try not to jump to fast and think about what others say before i post. the problem i get is when i don't think about what iam going to say. i havesaid some regretable things.
