  • I think I got a boxer's fracture...

for things like this you should really suck it up and go to the er. if the bone is sticking up or you have a lump it means the bone did not heal right and this may be fine now but later on you will regret it but then it will be too late. dude go get your hand fixed. when your radiator goes out in your car it is best to fix it right or replace it than to just pour pepper in it hoping that it patches the hole.

Yes that is 100% sure a boxers fracture i have got it twice i still have the cast on now from the second time.I live in Ireland so med is free there is not much the docs can do put your hand out straight turn it around so the pam of your hand is facing up.Make a fist looking at your baby finger if it is rotating different from your other hand you will need surgery that's if your lucky enough i wish mine needed surgery. Then it will be 100% fixed but now i keep having problems because of street fights. But i want to start MMA and don't know if this injury is stopping me that's what i came here to ask those anyone have the answer?.

Recently I have been doing some training and I injured my hand punching, its been a few weeks now and i just realized i have a bony lump below my pinky knuckle. There's no real pain right now, just a little bit sore. I have full control of my hand. I would go to the doctor and get it checked up, but i have no health insurance. Can anyone help me out with this? I have some pictures of it.

What can they really do after 3 weeks of injuring it? Is it too late for anything to be done?

they can do alot for u still ef was right rebreak set and cast or surgery. skillz is having problems with his and this as he can tell you gets worse. and for you skillz i say go ahead with your mma workouts but until the hand is fixed it will just be a bad repeat like groundhog day. you can go fight but expect to spend alot of time nursing that hand.

I went to the doctors today and got the x-ray done...

No fracture, no breaks. They dont know what the bump is, maybe tendons. Good grief...

the physician said it might be a tendon inflammation, but would it really last 3 weeks? I had xrays of my hand while its flat and also while its tilted. She said it looks normal. A specialist will take a look at the xray next week, so hopefully ill know by then. My hand is at full use, except when i put too much weight on it (push ups) it hurts a bit, or lift too much weight (40+ lbs).

if you cannot bear the weight of push ups it is not ready and you do have a problem. hopefully the specialist will help because alot of times people who read your xrays don't know shit which seems to be the case. i damaged a tendon in my hand last week it is almost completely healed, and when it happened i thought my hand was broke because of the way it swole up. your problem is not a endon it is definately your bone. until you know for sure ice heat and massage push in a straight line away from your heart and not against the muscles.

help with pain relief, if you are massaging the way you are supposed to it will hurt ice will help because as you are massaging it you are agravating it which will cause it to be inflammed, ice will help it not bother so much, heat will relieve after you massage. so ice massage heat and repeat in that order. also get some rubbed sage and rubbing alcohol make a paste spread over injury and wrap let it dry an you when it dries go it again, this is a real quick poor mans jow, but it works great try you will see. this is only a temporary fix though, still needs to be checked out by the doc.
