Yes, I did watch it. I am sure its the first of others coming soon. There is also the whole ranking thing certain people are starting to push, with different levels and ranks. I saw two other people with long winded explanations for it.

                Dear "fire cobra" and "George",
I recently came across this thread about my product while browsing the net. I don't usually post on forums because of time constraints, but I felt like I needed to here since your comments are both unkind and imply things that are far off the mark.

My credentials are as stated on my website. I have been doing Muay Thai since 1986. I have been privileged to learn many of my things from Ajarn Surachai Sirisute (but my knowledge is not limited even there). In fact, the videos on You Tube that you criticize contain things that I learned directly from him! I don't know if that is good enough for you, but that's the plain and simple truth.

Moreover, I have a tremendous amount of very happy and satisfied customers from all over the world. The testimonials on my site are 100% legitimate. They include both beginners and those who have an extensive amount of experience in Muay Thai (not to mention I have other testimonials that I have not yet been able to post). One can also see my feedback on my Ebay page: eBay Feedback Profile for clansullivan . There you will see pure first hand comments - untouched by me - about my videos.

Our Muay Thai course is not a "black belt mail order program". It is a way for someone to learn Muay Thai who is otherwise unable i.e., no gym in their area, can't attend a gym because of scheduling, etc. It is also for those who want to supplement their training with some extra training at home.

There are also new additions to the series that I think will benefit many people. We just released the advanced series (TheComplete Muay Thai Home Study Course DVD Video: Advanced Training) and have some "on location in Thailand" series from a couple of trainers in Thailand that should be out early next year.

Finally, I would say that if anyone has any questions, they are more than welcome to contact me personally. I do not withhold my contact information, and I do not hide behind a screen name.

                Sincerely,

Thanks for coming on here and putting your point of view across Mr Sullivan.

As the person who started the thread,I would like to say that going on the clips you realeased for public viewing of your course I saw very little of the Muay Thai I have spent the last 30 years studying,I am sorry if this seems harsh, but you only have to put on a dvd of a contest from Lumpinee stadium to realise this.

                  Thanks.

                    Hi,
While i welcome your feedback. We on this forum can only respond to what information anyone puts out on their product meaning whatever clips or writing, and that is what was responded to.

I came to thailand to live full time, compete and train muay thai to get away from these type of commercial products and projects which dont reflect to me what muay thai is. Thats my choice in life to learn something that i love very much. I respect your choice to do as you wish with the knowledge you have.

I understand your product is for home training and for people who cant get the actual training from a teacher or at a gym or school. I personally dont go by Ebay feedback for any martial arts instructionals but from people on the forums that i trust like most people, and we often inquire about people, products, equipment, etc. Understandably, I am also not the target audience for your product as well.

I think everyone on the forum gives very, very, very honest feedback to what we see and what we share. Its our opinions based on whatever levels of experience we have and what is presented of the product should some one ask about it. Every forum works the same way.

I dont think there was any injustice here, outside of not buying and viewing the dvds, but from what we read and what we saw, I personally wouldnt buy it and I expressed that view clearly.

I dont withhold my name either.

                    George

Well I guess I'm not daunted by the "I've trained in Thailand for a long time and this isn't Muay Thai" response. First because not all gyms over there are that great anyway (poor hand skills for example) and secondly others who have also trained a lot in Thailand have given my course very good reviews.

You guys are certainly entitled to your opinion - what I teach may not be your style or to your liking, but it is indeed the Muay Thai that I have learned and developed from Ajarn Chai and others.

As a matter of fact, I'll post a coupon code right here for anyone who wants to try it out. Type this code MUAYTHAI25OFF in the shopping cart during checkout and it'll take off 25% of either the original course here:

Muay Thai Training DVD - The Complete Muay Thai Home Study Course

                      or the advanced course here:

("Geroge" and "fire cobra" - you are both welcome to use the coupon code too )

Again if anyone has any questions, they are more than welcome to contact me personally - all my info is below. This is my final post on the matter.

I'm always suspicouse of anyone who offers a 'home study' course for any martial art. Cause IMO they count on it that people are dumb enough to believe that they can properly learn anything from it without ever having to step into a gym.

Jesus, the guy finds a buried thread from three months ago just by happening by? Then posts a commercial for his product with a discount!! What's next? Hopefully that was his "final post on the matter"...........Cant imagine the war that would erupt if someone actually reviewed it and hated it.............

                            Scott,

Sorry but you show your ignorance of Muay Thai and Nak Muays by your words "not all gyms over there are great anyway" and " poor hand skills for example".

Can I ask you have you ever actually been to Thailand sir?,or stood in front of a Lumpinee or Rajadamnern ranked fighter? clinched with one?,these are important things to have done because then and only then will you get to part understand just how good these guys are.

Thanks for the coupon offer sir but I wont be taking you up on it, however had the clips you show advertising your course looked like the Muay Thai I have seen and practiced then I would be the first in line to purchase it from you.

                            Respect.

I've had a number of clips on youtube for a few years now (not Thai, other arts). When you make the decision to put yourself out on the web, you have to accept that you'll get feedback. I've had kind words, constructive criticism, and right down to flat insults and piss taking. Its par for the course, you just need to shoulder it and accept it as part of the game.

I'm no where near qualified to pass judgement on Mr Sullivan's videos, though in my humble opinion they don't in any way reflect my recent training in Thailand. And far from there being "not great gyms", the level over there far exceeded any I have seen in the UK or USA, in fact its just a different world. Nothing wrong with their hand skills either, and I'm from a Boxing background.

Unfortunately, Mr Sullivan's posts here on this forum have not helped his cause one bit. Very defensive, rather arrogant, and then followed by a shot of shameless self-promotion. Sometimes how you react to criticism says alot about you as a martial artist.
