The fact that I'd happily play the organ at Eminem's funeral may have contributed to me not posting that particular version of the highlight reel.

That said, I'd still watch the footage of Ramon even if it was set to the soundtrack of Calamity Jane.

I read an article 10 years ago or so, it said that in some occasions Dekkers didn't have to show his passport at the Thai airport's customs because the officials there recognized him straight away! Probably an exageration as he too needs his visa stamped, but they surely knew who he was before checking his ID.

Ramon was the man! fought all the top Thais in the top stadiums,I remember sitting in Lumpinee 1995 not knowing who was on that night,then I heard a big roar(place was packed out) and Ramon Deckkers was anounced in the ring,what a great buzz Ill never forget it.

Everywhere I go in Thailand when talking about Muay Thai the Thai people mention Ramon Deckkers,he is famous over there even now.

He had a heart of lion,chin of granite and could knock out a bull with either hand!,thanks for the memories Ramon!.
