The refs in Muay Thai rings in Thailand are the best refs of any sport I have seen,they control the action really well,knowing when to let it flow and when to step in,I especially like how they cradle a knocked down fighters head to stop it hitting the ring floor,the refs are worth a close study to anyone interested in Muay Thai.Originally posted by ProKarateShop View PostComment

I think also in the older fights they really give the fighters every chance to continue and fight. Sometimes i have seen just remarkable comeback and turnarounds because the guy was allowed to continue. I think we see it less so now, the refs are really in close on the action and will stop them more readily than before from my observations of the older fights and watching them live more now. But the ref work as firecobra states has always been good, though i favor the older rules with plowing and letting stuff really run!Comment
