Sitsongpeenong Muaythai Camp :: Home Page
Just won "Best up and coming gym in Thailand" (2010).
Two current champions of Thailand (Kem and Malpichet).
Kem just signed with Its Showtime in Europe, he will be bigger than Baukaw.
The head trainer Molit trained Bee (True Bee Gym), Jongsanan Fairtex, Chay-yai Sipttehpitak and more.
Laem 92kg trainer for the big boys. The facilities are clean, plenty of attention from trainers, not many falangs.
You will be expected to train hard.

Hi, one thing to look for or specifically what i look for in the camp is knowing myself i need stern regimenting. meaning i need to be pushed and kept in line. Thats me. So I look for a camp where the trainers watch your every move and keep on you. I found some of the camps were sometime lack, though the work got done. I mean under the weekly, monthly, and yearly push --you have to give here and there or bag out or whatever--but for me i know myself. I like pad holders who are sharp, and who are very active. There are different type of pad holders and trainers. its not all the same as many think. So its like the old saying know thyself and then find the place that fits you. All the recommendations and everything mean nothing in the face you not being comfortable and getting the most of the experience as well as learning muay thai. Thats why you need to go there and soak it in a bit and feel it out. If that camp doesnt work, then so be it, you can move on, dont feel guilty, dont feel bad. It has to be the environment you know you can excel in.

I'll definitely keep you guys posted on how my trip goes whenever I can george. I'm not planning on leaving until the fall though so it's a bit off in the distance. And good thing you guys mentioned running because I seriously need some new kicks (might have forgotten if you didn't bring it up!).
Thanks for the compliment on the name fire cobra, I thought so too hah. Both of you guys have given me a lot of insight into this trip and you've both gotten me really excited for it to actually happen. Every time I come on this forum I look forward to hearing about anything to do with Thailand or training there. So once again, thank you! I look forward to the time when I can give some insight from my own first hand experience to someone else in my current position.
Just curious, what do you look for in a camp that would make you recommend it over another one? For example, fire cobra, why do you recommend Saengmorakot over Sasiprapa? Does it have to do with the quality of training, or more to do with your personal experience/relationship with the camp, or both?

Yeah George is right Sticky Hands(great name by the way),running on the pavements and jumping over and around potholes also watching for motor bikes driving on the path and people carrying lots of food can be fun but hazardous lol.
The best run I had was at Lukprabart camp where its right out into the country with hills etc around, that was hazardous at one point to mind because they were repairing roads(wide roads) and we had to run around the newly laid tarmac, take good trainers with you Sticky because you will do plenty of miles,at Lukprabart it was 1.5 hours in the morning 6am,I was caught on the hop in Chiang Mai one time and had no trainers with me,the Kru said I had to run in my sandles which was hard around the back sois of the area.

excellent point, fire cobra. Really something important, when running out in the street, they will have a route laid out. Be careful the first few times as you break into the routine. The sidewalks, streets, and pavements are generally uneven with some breaks and potholes here and there. You just have to be careful. I mean the fighters will veer around things naturally and point things out, but just a little pointer to remember. I didnt like running in the street, the traffic and all. But i followed what the camp did. Firecobras idea of swimming is great, swimming is just great.
No problem, sticky hands. Just one thing --remember to give us a full report of your experiences and such when you get there or after. We love to hear about that as it helps keep the information and experiences flowing. Soon you will have alot to contribute! it all goes in a circle.
