    Yeah I'm not a fan of chael either. He came up briefly to train because he knew someone at our gym. That's his only connection. I'm sure they would not endorse him. I was just throwing him out cuz he showed up there. He really needs to get his stuff together. I thought it was funny how he was blasting carwin about steroids then turns around and gets busted. And the real estate thing... man oh man is right jake.

      was working with elbows the other day with my sparring partner, its the timing thats really hard to work over the contact, dont you think? i padded up with the metal mesh headgears so we could bang. It was hard at first to get them going while lets say defending the knees and punches. it was interesting as hell, was reading this thread and wanted to try it out. good stuff here and good ideas with work with.

        Kyuss your right. For any technique to work the timing has to be worked a lot. Its everything. Well that and having the stones to try. I like to throw them at the end of punch combos or when exiting the clinch. They are really unexpected at those times. I also use them at the same time as knees it confuses the opponent and one of em always lands.

          I understand you completely. You are right it does it on its own when its supposed too. In the khmer arts we have a heavy focus on elbows, with that being said we use them in all sorts of situations. Again you are correct though, they are much easier in a grappling range. I will say for everyone curious about elbows, use them on focus mitts. Let your partner know your combos ahead of time and work some elbows into your combos. Start there. Then get in the mirror and work the same combos correct your alignment, practice them slow learn the movement and the way the technique feels. Then go back to the. Mitts and see the difference. The power will come automatically. From there get you a padded spar going with your coach if u have one. This should lead you into direct sparring. By then your should have your timing pretty well figured out. Repetition Repetition.

            I was just thinking about this thread and how Fire Cobra was crying about not being able to learn on his own. Recently, I was fortunate enough to try my skills on someone in the UFC and did very well. Physics and anatomy. For someone who's as old as my dad, you'd think you would be smarter. Does that mean Fire Cobra is full of shit? YUP. I guess I win that argument. Hey, maybe you'd have some luck telling the same thing to Rich Franklin. He might listen to your ignorance LOL.

                Ha whatever. I know very well that you are a moderator. IDC. I wasn't bullying anyone. Look back at the first posts. I was completely respectful. In point of fact, I was the one being bullied. Fire Cobra was the one bashing my learning process along with tenzen. I'll have a go at anyone who is going to disrespect me and my skills. I've been nothing but respectful to the people on this forum for years.

                Martial Arts used to be about respect and honor. Instead, we have flaming trolls like these guys. I'm tired of all of the know it all, talentless mouths hiding behind old mystics and internet forums. If you are an asshole to me, I'll call you out...plain and simple.

                  Hi twtguy-- i just read the whole thread and although its an old thread its seems to be deteriorating badly. Look, we have some bad ferocious argumentative threads on this forum especially with the kool aid crowd.

                  But this thread just seems to have some good info actually in it. I think the tone of some answers might have been taken completely wrong. Thats a problem with the internet. attacking the moderator isnt the best thing especially like you said you've been here for years on the forums.

                  Firecobra contributes from his own experience as do all of us. Thats all we have actually. Some of us have more. Some less.

                  Did you use an elbow in a fight recently and if you so what was the outcome and how did you set it up? I am personally interested in that over all the rest.

                    Wow this is an old thread. Good to know my words have affected the last 7 months of your life. I hope u took the advice we gave and followed some of the training ideas we talked about and become an elbow masta masta. Lol. Seriously though why did this thread come back up.
