Help with question

I know this may sound like a dumb question but what do you wear under thai shorts. ie is there some sort of special shorts?

Im not positive so If Im wrong or right can you specify. I think it would be the same as boxing. A groin sheild and most likely underwear.

Steel cup. Definitely. Back in the 1960s they experimented with aluminum cups but abandoned their use after several fatalities. Basically, when the stress modulus (breaking stress) of aluminum is reached it is shattered. Not a good way to go.

If you're really a traditionalist I believe they used a coconut shell historically. However, that is one piece of tradition that doesn't need to be continued. While coconut shells don't shatter like aluminum they have a much lower stess modulus than steel.
