  • Can anyone give me a link, pls ?

If there is any website, that shows "unique techniques" if there is such thing of in Muay Thai, like that can possibly kill, paralyze an opponent. I saw one in google when i was searching but i forgot the website cause I closed the browser, in like, an accidental type of way.

Anyways, one thing I saw was something like this, you step on your opponents lead leg and jump up and while you land back down you drive your elbow right down on his head. It said ' Can possibly paralyze, or kill an opponent. Banned in the ring.'

Is that a real technique ?

I haven't found much in the way of secret techniques. The technique you speak of with the downward spear elbow is quite well known. It is a sophisticated technique that can be countered by a basic technique. It is generally considered a coup de grace or finishing technique to use when your opponent is nearly down anyway.

But back to the primary point about secrets in Muay Thai. Yes, there are a few small things in Muay Thai that would be considered 'master tricks'. But the only way to see whether they work is to use them and then they aren't secret anymore. There are some things I would call 'truths' that some people can have a blind spot for. One of these might be that Muay Thai is work. Hard work. Once you get the basics through hard work, sparring, conditioning, etc. there are a lot of other little things that come along for free. But if you aren't willing to pay the dues the master tricks will be of little use to you.

        CRACKING THE COCONUT

That technique you mentioned earlier is called 'cracking the coconut' and is the famous move used by Nai Kanom Thom when he defeated the 9 best boxers from Burma in the 1700s. He killed their best, and last fighter. There are also what are called 'master' techniques, or 'upper' techniques but from my experience they are mostly just applications of basics done with advanced abilities, which, as Terry said, will only come through hard work. There are people today fighting who can step on your kicking leg and leverage themself up to shin kick you in the neck, or even step up to your shoulder and drop an elbow atop your head. A couple years ago Master Chai brought us a tape of two fighters fighting each other for the 16th time. One fighter had 186 fights, the other about 205. The fighter with 205 fights knocked the other guy out in the 4th round with a technique his opponent had never seen before. Apparently, once you are in good enough condition, if you can imagine it you can do it.

So, it's called cracking the coconut. Well, I was in the Bangkok airport for a few hours this last weekend, and I noticed two statues doing this move in the Thai Airways lounge. The secret's definitely out....
