I wanted to know some different ways to condition thighs. Is lifting weights and building muscle to protect the bone enough? Should I kill the nerves in my legs? Will I be able to walk?!

Just kick the bag! Set a goal of how many kicks per leg, and do it everyday. I say start off at 500 kicks per leg, per day. You dont want to build huge, slow twitch muscles from powerlifting, you want cut, fast twitch muscle. Kick the bag!

You want to make it so your thighs don't get hurt on a leg kick...stay on your toes and practice so you have a quick shield

I figured blocking or avoiding being hit could help. Thanx Jimi for the insight on body building. I kick the bag 3-4 times a week I only kick it 100 times a leg. I hear 2 conflicting things though.Should I kick the bag until I can't walk then come back and do it again the next day or should I let them heal? I use tiger balm before and after I kick the bag but those containers are so small I'm goin through them a week at a time!

Use some of that warm up thai liniment that comes in a yellow bottle before you kick the bag, then after use some dit da jow or zeng gu shui. I personally think you should kick the bag until you cant stand kicking it anymore, but since that varies depending on that particualr persons will, that can be a bad thing and some people just need a guy standing behind them yelling profanity to keep them going. I feel that you should just set a numbered amount of kicks per day and after you feel comfortable or feel like its getting easier then add to it. I have no idea where you train or who is training you but, this would just be my best advice if you train on your own. I will try to post a website that sells those warm up and cool down liquids. But the place i go for the best deal is THAISMAI.COM they ship direct from thailand and have hell a good deals on gear. Very high quality stuff!

Also thought i would add, that if its speed that you are also looking for, do double kicks as fast as you can over and over and over again. I wanted to improve my speed a while back and i decided to take 2 full weeks and ONLY do double kicks and with all my might get that second kick in there as fast as lightning, and dam, i must say that it helped improve my speed on my kicks.

When I hit the bag I try to do it in sets of 10, so as soon as I hit the bag I snap my leg back and as soon as my foot touches the floor I hit it again. So where you saying regardless lumpy my leg is when I'm done I should do it again the next day?

I guess it depends on how determined you are. I would imagine that if you are injured, its probably best to let your leg heal first. Those liniments can be lifesavers though. Some of them will pull out bruising in a day.

I either got this while at the Buddhai Swan or from a US Olympic Track Team Coach on TV.

First, slowly hop from one leg to another, over something about the size of a pillow. 20 Reps

Hop forward one leg at a time for 10 Hops

                      Squat jump forward about 12-18" 10 reps X 5

If this doesn't do it squat jump up short flights of stairs
