  • Muay Thai in Boston-area

I am moving to Boston and am looking for a gym to start training Muay Thai somewhere in the area. It seems that there are a couple places to train (Boston Muay Thai Academy and Sityotgong Muay Thai) - just wondering if anyone could offer some insight or experience with either or both of these gyms to help me make my decision of where to train. If you have any information on other gyms please list that too - these are all that I have found so far. I am looking to training seriously and am not looking just to get in shape. Thank a lot.

Do you know if they are affiliated with the TBA?

I train at Sityodtong and ask anyone anywhere.

We are the BEST school. Our trainers have fought and trained in Thailand and the best. Most of the legends out of Thailand have represented Sityodtong in Thailand. Champions and legends include the late Samart II Chatchai Praisitong, Sanlium, Yodsaenchai, Dejpituk and many more!

Sityodtong Boston is the only brother school to Sityodtong and instructors from Thailand have also taught here.

We also have an excellent grappling and boxing progam. We just had a guy win the Golden Gloves recently. For grappling we have Mat Santos a brown belt in BJJ and a veteran Pro MMA fighter. Known as one of the best no gi grapplers.

We also have a guy that does Kali, he takes part inthe Dog Brothers gatherings in California as well.

We also have people training for MMA fights in the recent future, myself included.

Bottom line, try both. Also ask around, most people will tell you Siyodtong is the best Muay Thai school in Boston.

Guy Chase is a well rounded and very knowledgeable instructor. Also a heck of a nice guy. He has worked with quite a few insructors and can really help you with your form in Muay Thai, which, as a beginner would be a good thing to get a handle on. Um, watch out for his Gotchism.
