I just wanted to thank Brian Yamasaki for bringing in Di (Not sure of the spelling but its pronounced DEE. I couldn't write his last name if I tried) to his school last night. Di is a 2X Lumpini stadium champion and took some time out of his busy schedule to observe Brian's class and even hold pads for everyone there. He damn near made me puke after one round.

Yep! he is a cool guy. He does things a little different then Master Chai but he definately is a force to be reckoned with. I heard he is helping out with some training for Jared for his upcoming Vale Tudo fight. Sure wish i could be there with you guys but my wife and i just had a baby and that takes all my time now. How do you like training with Brandon?

If you are a student of Ajarn Chai I would really encourage you to get out and study with some different trainers. Every trainer is a bit different, and most good ones have a lot to offer. The experience will do two things: 1) give you a different perspective, 2) give you a bigger appreciation for Ajarn Chai.

I think he means everyone in general.
And Jimi, Are you referring to Keiser (SP???) Sensei? (everytime I hear that name I think of Kaiser Sose from the usual suspects)?
If you are I haven't met him yet . . . unless he was at the Inosanto seminar.
I do most of my training at the Machado school in SLC and assist Brian whenever I can. I am usually up there on Thursdays; however, my JJ instructor wants me to train for the PanAms so I might be scarce at Brian's school untill that's over. But that doesn't change the fact that I am appreciative of Brian bringing Di in last night.
The thing I liked about Di was his "drop the hammer" kind of attitude and technique focus that really seemed to fit my natural tendencies more than most if not every pad holder that I have worked with has done.
If you live in Utah (SLC-Ogden) do yourself a favor and check out Brian's school in Bountiful.Last edited by DJ Coldfusion; 02-21-2003, 02:15 PM.
