Does somebody knows the function of the different kinds of mouthpieces ? Do you use 1 piece for the upper teeth or 2 different ones for upper/lower teeth or one that protects both(the one with a small hole , by which you can try to breathe) . Someone told me to use only a mouthpiece for the upper teeth because its only function is to avoid the teeth hitting each other ?????
    Thanks for your answers

moutpieces can aslo reduce the chance of a concusion. It absorbs some of the shock so it doesn't travel directly from your jaw to your skull. It has other funtions....less chance of losing teeth.

Something to chew on wile you waiting....lol

Brain pad i believe is it's name it's a25 dollar mouth piece but it protects your upper and lower teeth. as majapahit pointed out it helps reduce the risk of concusion 25 dollars may seem like alot for a mouth piece but were talking about your teeth and jaw. do you really want a 2 dollar mouth piece for that? It's also so your opponet doesn't cut his hand on your teeth

Shock absorber and tooth protector are a few of its functions. Also keeps you from biting your tongue off on an uppercut to the chin.

Make sure you get a gumsheild made at your local dentist or specialist, this way it may cost a bit more but will be moulded to the exact shape of your mouth & you'll never go back to one of those stupid boil in water ones.
The feeling you get with these are amazing and they can take a tug just to get them out because of the perfect fit.
They also come in custom colours!!!

          Here's proof:
