[Post deleted. Enough of this! I remind you that the standards of conduct on the Muay Thai forum are higher than for other sections of this forum. --Terry]

Nothing wrong with british!!! Ha Ha Ha
Many good fighter's have came from this LITTLE british empire.

Nah serious what people seem to forget that it's desperation when you can only count things like this happening on ONE hand and then going screaming about it, face it at one point or another most people will lose, who cares.
Iv'e seen many a biased judge in my time and yes it does nothing for competing but nullify the end result in the eyes of a neutral person viewing it.

i also remember the story of the chinese team going to thailand & havin their asses kicked (christ our instructor mentioned it enough times) but if i ain't seen it then i take it with a pinch of salt.

i remember this kind of thing happened when BUSHIDO was first shown on sattelite & this argument came up, i remember some champion boxer going into bushido acting tuff & after about 3 leg kicks he runs out of the ring!!!

any given fighter can win regardless of his MA style that's life

Cain - thou art a knowledge free zone.

As for Bushido, I saw some of those. They were so fixed. The boxer involved was Trevor Berbick who was once a well respected heavyweight. But the whole thing was like a WWF show. He was the bad guy and Takada the good guy. He ran off after a couple of little taps. A total publicity stunt if you want my opinion.

true i couldn't concentrate on it as it was so funny, but i thought that Bushido stuff looked quite tuff & i remember some chinese fella was good at thai on it, who was the big heavyweight who won most of the time?

When he said he got 100% on todays exam, he meant todays examination. The doctor examined him fully, and found him to be 100% full of shit.........

That big wrestler was Gary someone. Can't remember his name, it is on the tip of my tongue. It might be fixed, but I'm not taking him on.

I bought on of their videos. There is a classic moment when the great Takada takes a kick right in the mush, and then obvioulsy gets his opponent to lay off while he clears his head. Its laughable.

                Rickson made mincemeat outta him.

True that the Thais have beaten the Chinese. Considering Sanshou is less than 10 years old (I think) it is doing decently. Real thai kickboxers can walk through top-ranked fighters in other arts. Its not the style, its due to the fact that these guys walk, live eat and breathe thaiboxing. Their focus is on conditioning their bodies, throwing thousands of repititions of the same technique, jogging mile after mile, but during their training they never spar full-contact - only lightly. Why? Because their next meal ticket depends on showing up for the next fight.

Have you guys sparred against karate guys who are from Japan? I'll admit that their boxing is so-so, but they can throw the five basic kicks-front,side,round,back and hook faster and harder than most of us and they spend hours upon hours in the gym. Its the conditioning and training that makes the difference. Once the Sanshou guys get more experience, they will be competitive with MT but it will take many years.

Chinese arts are very interesting. You have Chinese art practicioners that can kill with their bear hands or guys who get schooled by amateur boxers. Not a lot of consistency, but it would be good to see what the succesfull ones are doing differently.

This San Shou sounds interesting. Khun and bri bring up excellent points. Until people start cross training then the sanda guys will have the ball in there court.
