the death of another martial artist like a well known Alex Gong
is another hard blow to the arts, I am so sadend about the early
lost of a very promising martial artist like him...please accept my condolence to all his family and relatives.
This tragic incident should have not happened if only the subject
has not lost the control of him self and mind, what is the use of chasing the vehicle in my own openion ? This should had been
avoided if what he did is instantly....distinguish the look of the vehicle, color, license plate and maybe the driver, like fast profiling, and then report to cops or do it the other way later.
I hope that we have learned some morals here too...
Don't you think it would be better to think safety first, then analyze and execute ?
I would always advice my students not to forget to keep cool .

You know if the shooter ever get caught and go on trial, there is a high possibility he will get off. He can claim that he shot in self-defense as Alex was confronting him and wearing fighter gear. He can say that he thought that Alex could be some thype of martial artist capable of lethal strikes and he feared for his life.

It'll be truly a sad day if that guy gets off of this scot free...

As ridiculous as our justice system is, you may be right. Ofcourse, if the jerk gets off, he still has to deal with the guys at Fairtex!

my friend and i were at the travel lodge this morning just before swat dropped the flash grenade. It is not confirmed yet but is more than likely this is the bastard that shot alex. Police seemed very confident due to an informant's tip and the interview with the lady that left the room at 6:30am this morning. An sf detective that was at the scene spoke with us and was very sincere in the loss of alex gong. The same sf detective told us " It is going to end either 2 ways, suicide or to come out shooting.." Several reporters interviewed my friend and myself. Alex Gong will always be known as a Champion Kickboxer who had dreams and goals for muay thai...
