  • Proper Knee Technique

I have recently begun really working out on the heavy bag. The more I hit the heavy bag, I find more and more that my form is changing for the better. What are some suggestions on heavy bag workouts? Should I go all out, pace myself. I am not realloy training for anything other than perfecting my form and learning how to incorporate combos and new technique. One problem is I only get to train on it once a week which really sucks, but its the only heavy bag on campus other than the boxing club ones, and they get mad when I kick them.

Oh and sorry for the incorrect thread name, I can't find a way to edit it out. I was gonna ask something about knees, but I saw a previous post that answered the question.

If your trying to perfect technique and learn some combo's, the first thing you need is to have someone show you how to do the technique's properly( just assuming). Try using a mirror after that doing the techniques slowly so your form gets better, then slowly speed it up, to where you need the bag.Try single techniques first till your good at them, and then learn to flow with your combo's. You'll also want to work on your footwork, so think of the bag as a living opponent, move back, teep, strike or block when it swings at you, and move forward on it when it moves away from you. Circle it,sidestep when it comes at you blah blah blah, I'm quiting now, hope this helps a little.
