I'm a Muay Thai stylist...
I've seen a former lumpini champion get beat by a Hung Gar instructor when I was in Thailand. The only technique that resembled Muay Thai that the Hung Gar guy did was check so he obviously had some training/familiarness with Muay Thai(who doesn't these days?). I think it depends on the style of Kung Fu to an extent in relation to vs'n Muay Thai. Obviously a wushu stylist would get killed by a Muay Thai stylist.
Most of the time Muay Thai will prevail but there is always an exception..it comes down to the individual. I've seen guys that come from schools that are known for having the worst fighters but somehow have a natural aptitude for fighting and prevail.
Did you guys see that King of the Cage a few months back where William Siriyapai fought in and got his ass kicked but had many opportunities to leg kick/body kick/knee and didn't take advantage of them?
