Whew!
I watched some good fights while I was lifting and working cardio this evening. In two matches in particular, the fighters had particularly good defense skills against elbows and knees.
In the first fight, things were evenly matched up into the third round. A lot of action, but not a lot of scoring. Toward the end of the third, the fighter in red started looking a bit winded and started getting a bit sloppy. He started throwing the same technique (right straight knee) multiple times in a row. Blue obviously picked up on it because on the next right straight knee he side stepped on a left 45 and simultaneously threw a over hand right and caught the guy in the throat dropping him immediately. Red appeared to convulse a couple of times and then jumped up to his feet, took a couple of steps and tumbled face first into the ropes. Fight over. He appeared to be ok a few minutes later.
The next one was very similar. Very evenly matched until they started clinching. Blue was able to throw/sweep his opponent multiple times from the clinch. He even worked in a very Hagabis-ish sweep on one of reds round kicks. Unfortunately in the forth he started dropping his hands and was KO'd by a right cross-left upper cut, right cross-left upper cut. I think he was actually out on his feet on the first left upper cut, but he caught another two shots before he hit the ground.
Lots of action and very good skills, but unfortunately, when they got winded, they got sloppy and paid for it....................
..............I think I'll go do another hour of cardio.
