did anyone see that guy in the kickboxing match that broke his shin with a kick? i saw it on espn's "you gotta see this" and it horrified me. my nephews have it on one of their video taped sparring tournaments too in slow motion. it scarred me even worse. the guys foot wrapped around the opponents leg and then he tried to step down on it. ooooh.

what i meant about aiming for the knee or above it is this, the powerful end of a kick is where you get that car crash type impact but if you aim for higher on the leg it is not as powerful and you can inflict the damage instead of the other way around.

        retired

retired are you going to explain to me what happened please? your shin bone broke, how did it break, obviously a roundhouse but can you give some details as to the amount of conditioning you had prior to this fight and if you have had injuries to your leg in the past.

        thanx in advance

I broke it throwing a full power shin kick & totally commited myself to the kick, but my opponent was also going to do something and his hip turned which is where i caught it with my shin then stood on it.

My shins have always had deep nerves so i never got feedback on if they were damaged (i used to cut the skin without knowing).

but prior to that fight i hadn't done much running or calcium intake so who know's?
