Teachers Day

Don't forget that October 16th is the TBA's teachers day. According to the website, the traditional gift is as follows.

"Respect and discipline are qualities that are expected of Thai boxers. Each Teacher's Day students pay respects to their instructor by making a special gift to their instructor. This present should include: flowers (any); (the following in a bowl) 1 candle; 3 sticks of incense; uncooked rice (~1/2 cup); 1 piece of fruit."

Yes, I sent mine off two days ago.
To all the TBA Khun Krus and Ajarns who have participated in the Oregon Camp over the years, many respects to you on Teacher's Day.
Of course, the main focus is on the birthday boy himself, Ajarn Chai, but I would also like to pay special respects to Khun Kru Mike Walrath (founder of the Oregon Camp and Eugene Branch director) and Ajarn Steve Wilson (Oregon Camp renegade monk and Krabi Krabong master). Many thanks.
