    DO NOT GET A GLOCK.

    DO NOT GET A REVOLVER.

Why? I'll start with Glocks first.

IF the caliber size doesn't start in 4 or above do not bother bringing it to a fire fight. Parabellum rounds SUCK for knockdown power.

Revolver= Six Single Shots= Too Little Ammunition= Too slow of a reload time.

You can use a speed reloader but those will only get you so far.

My advice? Go for with MK.23 SOCOM or USP.45 Tactical or for the civvie version.

SIGs are also good guns to choose from...BUT avoid Berreta and the Glock as if they are the plague.

Or if you want something alittle many....go for the Desert Eagle .357.

DO NOT BUY THE 50 AE.

YOU DO NOT NEED THAT MUCH FIRE POWER.

And chances are you probally won't be able to handle the recoil.

A home handgun should not be used to trade fire with a team of assasins with full tactical gear.

A 9mm will take down a robber just fine, and all 9mms at least have damn good capacity.

The Mk23, while it has the fancy "SOCOM" name going with it, is one of the largest handguns ever made.

The USP is pretty good but very pricey. Glock also supposedly has a .45 with a 16 rd capacity which I hear also handles nicely.

But most people I know have started out their handgun collection with 9mms.

If you've got an extra eleven hundred dollars or so, it's an excellent choice. USPs are great weapons... so is just about anything from Heckler & Koch. I own a Steyr M40-A1 and love it. I plan on purchasing a HK VP70 soon. Looks like a phaser, shoots like a Glock. Can't go wrong with the following: Glock, Colt, Springfield Armory, Walther, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, CZ USA (as stated before, the CZ-75 is a great weapon). Kimber makes great 1911 style weapons and Heckler & Koch.

              Yup.

Which makes it a better training round.
Which means you'll get more range time.
              Which means you'll shoot better.
Which means instead of blasting the water pitcher 4 feet away from the threat with the "badass" .50AE round of which you'll have 6 left, you'll be signing your name in his chest with 15 rds of 9mm.

Of course, the 9mm guns are also easier to handle in terms of size, and easier to conceal as well if you've got a CCW. I have average sized hands, and for example, I struggle with the .357 version of the Desert Eagle...the mag release is too far forward so I have to twist my hand on the grip. Also don't feel a real solid grip on the gun either.

Now a friend had a Sig 9mm which I found handles like a dream.

                      Then I suppose you'll need the MP-7?

Perfect for that pesky body armor...

Can you get me a H&K MP7. Wow, that'd probably be outta my price range though. And it can't outshoot an MP5 can it?
