I don't know how I missed this one up until now. There's a lot of good stuff, a couple of those standing arm bars are pretty cool. I was also impressed with the way he used that chair... that's something that I think a lot of people over-look/underestimate.

Seriously though, the knife defense assumes that the guy is coming like a freak in a slasher movie : if the guy parades the knife like that, he deserves to get stabbed with it. (A kali guy would not do that...)
Also, on the rear choke, my BJJ instructor's philosophy was that if the choke is sinked in (or any hold for that matter) IT'S TOO LATE.
It's up to you to develop sensitivity (and no turn your back on anybody if shit gets ugly) so that you can counter the choke before it's set it (I've been caught like that [not cool], once it's there, it's there!). Then instead of trying to strike the guy you gotta off-balance him to get rid of the choke: sweep to the side (if he leans back) or flip over.

nice belly to back works for guys too. though i realize hind sight is 20/20 i train instead of both arms around the hips put one between the legs kind of like a high crotch from behind (hitting two heads is better than one) though i dont think i would have gone down with the guy. still that rocked

I wasn’t to found of his knife defense though and catching that punch like he did. I never saw him do that in his fights (wind milling and catching the incoming punching arm).
