Stuff like "Reality will kill MOST martial artists!" right.

That doesn't make sense or ring true right, it's just smack talk intended to say "I'm better than you" innit. Let's look at the statement closer right:

Reality = presumably this refers to the realities of a real life self defence situation right. With it so far.
will = implies a degree of certainty
kill = cause the death
MOST = more than 50%, implies significantly greater than 50% right
martial artists = people who train martial arts

Right, if we consider the likely causes of death of martial artists, only an insignificant portion actually die from violent crime, certainly in USA or UK. There are literally millions of martial artists in USA but only about 16,000 murders per year, and only a small proportion of those are martial artists.

So the statement that it is R34L1TY killing most martial artists is clearly wrong innit.

Look dude... why do you have your panties up in a bunch, personally I dont train for hardcore self defense all the time, I train cause its fun. When I did Krav Maga (a RBSD system), I did it cause I enjoyed it, not cause I needed to defend myself.

BJJ, Boxing, Wrestling, Clinch Work (wouldnt call it muay thai cause its not but I own in the clinch for some reason) and starting to incorporate FMA, stickfighting specifically, just because its fun.

I'm sure the RBSD guys have fun when they do their training too, and I'm sure the ones concerned about SD do it for that reason too, who cares, do it for what you want.

I'm always amused by the RBSD brigade.

In my oppinion RBSD is just another excuse: - "oh in reality grappling is useless and will get you killed that's why I don't do it. However, I do RBSD bulletman training once a month on top of my kerr-arrty training. This makes me invincible on teh str33ts."

rbsd do people forget that the true martial arts were used and desgned by the warrior classes to survive in combat....I dont think it gets more realist than a group of guys with pole arm and edged weapons trying to kill each other. i realize that there were also systems that are peasant or monk based that dont have the same martial applications. i dont think that things got much more real than the warfare that gave birth to these systems.

SCARS . i have a lot of respect for those that take the time to gain belts in various arts...I dont have the time.. I like the quick and dirty...they guys that put these wartime systems together namly Fairbairn Skyes and Applegate
took the most effective and easiest techniques for alot of different arts and skills and these techniques have been proven by in many cases centures of use...

i have asked you in several threads, WHO taught you S.C.A.R.S.? did you learn from Jerry? did you buy his tape or visit the facility?

I just now got to your posts I and several shipmates bought the tapes and got out on the flight deck to work it out..when we ran into questions one of the guys had some buddies at 1 and 3 and they'ed give us some pointers..also there is a hand to hand section at vbss school. though it mostly deals with restraining prisoners.

sorry i was a deck ape when i came in then i struck gunners mate guns. i was never on carriers thank god!!
i was on frigates and destroyers though i had one tour on an amphib so i was exposed to a lot of training and influence from the corps too.
as far as traing on the flight deck we had rubber mats like a wrestling mat but not as big. most ships have exersize mats...I was on the Underwood, the Beleau wood and the john paul jones
