In the current political climate, gun fetishim is a topic that's bound to arouse controversy. Some people just can't look at guns without thinking about violent crime and murder. Guns have transformed from simple albeit deadly tools into objects with powerful moral implications. In a sense, we live in a society with a serious gun fetish. You can't look at contemporary films without seeing loving closeups of weaponry, slow-motion bullets cumming out of barrels, wet flesh opening wide.
Perhaps it should come as no surprise, then, that some people find guns sexually arousing. As we've already seen, fear and tension play a huge role in sexuality. Some guns have an overtly phallic shape, that they explode and spurt hot lead, that they have a distinctive odor and symbolic power makes them ideal as fetish objects.
I suppose you could call me a gun fetishist, though I don't often use them in bed. However, when I clean and shoot my guns I do experience a sudden feeling of aliveness, my senses get sharper and more focused, and I sometimes become physically excited. Like many fetihists, I have a very particualr idea about what weapons are hot and which are not (I prefer black matte rifles and Beretta .9 mms.)
