It could happen up here too. I've escorted tresspassers off private property but we had fences and signs on all the access roads.

Yes, I accidentally stepped a few feet off of BLM land and onto his property, and there weren't any signs, and I explained this to him right away.

He overreacted. Hence the . You may disagree with me, but you weren't there. I'm also not really sure why he'd want to DRIVE me somewhere when I could easily WALK off his property without having to get into a truck with an armed stranger in the middle of nowhere in the desert off a dirt road.

This is the same dude, btw, who I later heard from neighbors would spend hours shooting (and mostly missing) birds who he thought were eating the pecans off his tree. I wonder what costs more, the pecans or the bullets. But anyway...

He didn't need to drive me, and it would have taken longer to get onto the road...and I did hop a few feet back over the invisible line (well, actually, sprint all the way back to my tent is more like it).

I could tell the story, but I suppose there's no point, since you obviously know everything that happened anyway.

Glad to see that nobody is immune to your inaccurate assumptions, btw. I stand in some damn fine company.

So you broke and ran, and were still on his property? Or you left his property and he then chased you down and escorted you back onto his property and into his truck? Or were you illegally living and camped on his property all along?

I broke and ran off of his property to my tent, which was at the ranch I was legally camped at. They let me stay there in exchange for work... setting dripline irrigation, digging trenches, maintaining their fruit and nut trees, doing elder care, stuff like that. I could have camped legally on BLM land, too.

I think my words were something like, "Whatever you're gonna do, you're gonna have to do right here, cos I'm not getting in your truck."

There's more to this story but nothing I care to repeat.

                              LOL Big mystery....

Good to know nothing (too) severe took place. You could have been a missing person for years. A victim and object of demented gratification. A statistic!

I've been shot at a few times but not because of my gender...

Nice to have you here TL. Thanks for sharing your story!
