I know this isn't really relevant to self defense or anything but....was the victim Asian, black, Hispanic, or white? Looked Asian to me. The video quality was poor and I was just curious, not that race matters in these situations.

And yeah, personally, I would've just gotten out of there in the first place. I'm just curious as to WHY the victim didn't do that. I'd never die for a parking space...

im gonna go with the assumption that when push came to shove, despite having a pipe he still didnt have the balls to use it against someone. this is because after years of trying to act hard and put up an outer image, he never really thought about what he would do when shit actually went down. his outer image was certainly a more important concern.

btw, whats ironic is that confrontations with these people are usually the easiest to de escalate inmop. all it requires is for you to feed their ego just a little, it will give them so much pride you will not believe. even saying just " my bad player, i dont want any trouble" could give one of these gangster wannabes such an ego boost it will usually immediately cool things down. these guys walk around 24/7 WISHING they were tough. they would sell their souls to the devil and get sodomized by hot coals just to be tough and this is the image they project to cover such deep insecurity. just feed their attention starved egos and jam.

i live in san jose ca, and san jose is nothing but posers and gangster wannabe type people. i have to deal with these kind of people day in day out.

I think that guy was probably drunk. He had some balls, that is for sure. But in the end he got knocked out and robbed. Pretty crappy.

that could just escalate the situation greatly. what if one of the guys homies by the car saw you grab the gun, freaks out and pulls his own weapon? it just got way worse.

why do all these people post a reply talking about taking revenge when they could just make like some titties and bounce. that really would be the best bet. trying to drive them over or pull a gun is just as bad as they are doing. cause when it comes down to it, you have pulled a gun and run people down with your car over a fcking parking space. nobodys gonna come outta this a winner when revenge, anger, and egos are involved.

BTW, I think videos like this are very helpful in understanding what happens in these violent confrontations. www.comegetyousome.com has a bunch of fight videos and my understanding is that he is a martial arts instructor and collects these type of videos to show his students what street fights really look like.

Why is it so hard to walk away, if there is one thing you should learn when training it is to know when to fight and know when to check your ego and walk away.

Emptyness hit the nail on the head, feed the guys ego, if you said something like that "My bad player, I don't want any trouble.." I have found that the guys will complete change their attitude and usually be completely cool about the situation after that. If you did something like that you would walk away in one piece, why force confrontation? If you can walk away, then do it. It could save your life...

I was at a bar, some dude behind me tripped bumped me and I spilled my drink all over these 2 wannabe thugs sitting at the table I was standing next to, they also had 3 other friends with them and they were all in my face looking to fight a few seconds after that. A simple "Easy big man, I don't want any trouble, it was an accident..." completely diffused the situation. The guy even bought me a drink because he felt like an jerk... later after a few drinks I saw the guys start a fight with somebody else over a girl they were hitting on. They all were arressted...

I could have escalated it, could have been an idiot and started a fight, probably would have ended up in Jail for a night too... Instead I walked away, no scratches, no bruises and a nice buzz... For me, thats the right choice...

Its kinda hard to "bounce" when the guys stuck through your window. If someone was skull fuckin you with a 38 you would turn and walk away to. correct? No more situation. correct? Its not about ego. Its about self defense. life and death. someone trying to attack my family(weapon or not) thru my car window is what I consider a life and death situation. Someone smaking my girl's ass at the club is not life and death situation but a ego/ disrepect thing. Disrespect is a every day part of life. death is only once. kill or be killed.

that guy who stuck his head in the window gave pretty clear warning signs even way before he stuck his head in the window that he was looking for trouble. there was plenty of time for the guy in the car to leave or roll up his window but he chose not to. i dont see how pulling a gun on that guy would have been a better option than just leaving. sure not everyone has the option of leaving in some confrontations, but the guy in that car did inmop. why stay and pull a gun and possibly create way more trouble isntead of leaving when you can?
