BTW a lot of people without martial arts experience ask these kinds of questions, often in order to pick a style.
Most people don't have any streetfighting experience, and have no idea what martial arts really is. They have some kind of romantic fairytale in their mind.

And it can be really hard seing through all the BS that people talk about how effective their style is.

You probably all read what some sifu/sensei/guru/kru/instructor/whatever said about their respective art, and thought "What a load of cr4p!!!"

But that's because you already have experience. You know about body mechanics, angles, distance, etc.

If a person have no concept of all this he/she naturally will have no idea about what makes a style effective, cause they're all "very effective for self-defence."
They all use the opponents power against himself, rely more on technique than strength, etc.

So just to be friendly and informative:

Styles aren't more or less effective for streetfighting per se.
It is the individual that makes the style effective.

Most arts have a lot of the same techniques, it's how you use them that makes the difference.

It's kinda like asking a boxer whether the jab, straight, hook or uppercut is more effective.
