I feel that in many places, cops don't tackle the hardcore bangers, they just cherry-pick people they can arrest. When a law-abiding citizen has to take somebody down, then the cops act like you are the criminal. Cops have an interest in an unarmed and subjugated populace.

If you say to the cops "There's is someone breaking into my house and if you don't get here soon I am going to shoot him" then yes, the chances of them coming around in 2 seconds flat is very likely.....especially in my country. All it has to be is a bluff but they'll be there. It sucks you have to resort to lies in order to get a decent reponse.

This does not happen where I live. Here it's illegal to have a weapon if not a police officer, hunter or a soldier.

I'd call the cops, but not rely on them. By the time they come the intruder will either be disabled or dead. Or I will be. My wife and others say, well you could go to jail, his family could sue etc. I say, fine, I'll deal with the consequences gladly. I just won't sit by idly and let someone break into my home and/or harm my family and myself.
