Good thinking there. Chances are he had thought about that use before hand and didn't pull it out of his ass at the moment. Good choice of target (realistic to hit and the weapon was almost unneeded) and since he was in a position to beat feet, great move!!

Interesting that you bash MMA, with your username being a nickname of one of the more famous MMA fighters.

And you should screw off you dumb troll.

Second, would the credit card even be better than your fist as a weapon.

I realize that pulling it out (acting like your complying), etc... is better than just freezing than trying to punch him in the throat, but maybe I would have just pulled it out and hit with the fist to the throat, chin jab, knife hand to the throat, etc...

Good question. Several points to consider here though. 1. It's all about deception, appear to comply, capture the mind much like a magician does...then when you lull him slightly by appearing to be complying, WHAM you hit him.

        2. IF you understand how you can get some fairly nasty cuts with a CC. The shot to throat should be enough, but should doesn't cut it when your life is on the line, take every advantage you can get! The weakest point to defend from is ALWAYS emptyhanded.

i've seen another cool sd flashlight design, though i forget the name brand. it wasn't as bright as this one in the vid, but definately enough to blind a guy on the street at night. the button is on the bottom so that you can hit it with your thumb and blind the guy from the "dukes up" position, and the light was surrounded by a sturdy metal rim specifically designed to open cuts.

Sounds like a Surefire or a Fenix with a TID (tactical impact device) attached...I really like Fenix lights they're extremely bright but use AA batteries as opposed to CV123 batteries which are EXPENSIVE and tough to find in a crisis. Tailcap switches are GREAT for strobing and distraction techniques.

"Study the threats you're likely to encounter and tailor your training and tools to the job you want them to perform."

Brilliant Post! Couldn't have said it better myself, wait a minute I have said it myself a million times.

This is true self Defense training. Unlike a lot of dojos who teach students how to fight their BIGGEST threat a Black belt wearing attacker with no shoes in his pajamas throwing a roundhouse kick.
