  • Real/help/now/might Get Robbed

hey guys, i'm here in australia, run a milkbar (convenience store).has been a few armed robberies within the same suburb in the past 2 weeks, most recent one was last friday, here's what approx that happened:

Last Friday morning about 5:00am, two broke into a news agent shop through the front window. One carried a handgun, the other carried a baseball bat. The shop owner ended up in a brawl with the two, he was clubbed by baseball bat round the back of his head, he's still in the hospital. (even though he did clean out the cash register for the two burglars)

what i saw on the news:

the Two were about 6 foot tall, medium build, (looked 150 lb - 170lb), both wore black-baggy jackets.

i know first reaction would be the phone, verbally distress the situation, seek opportunity of some sort of something maybe? crawl and slice them with a kitchen knife and lock them in??

any ideas??!!!! could be my shop tonight!
any help appreciated. thanks in advance!

can you buy a gun? if so, buy a shotgun or pistol and keep it hidden and loaded close by. if you cant do that, an easy to wield blunt object is your next best choice. something like an escrima stick, small hammer etc. basic tools from a hardware store make good weapons. nail pullers, hammers, screw drivers, small crowbars etc can by bought for very cheap and kept around you legally.

what about fortifying your store? put metal bars over windows so people cant get in. position items in a way to make it hard for them to move about. but a big stack of beer kegs by the front of the door etc, brighter lights, .....i dont know man....gun sounds like the best idea. i dont know how it works in australia, but here in the usa you can buy a powerful shotgun and ammo at a sporting good store for not that much cash.

      thanks for reply guys.
      can't buy firearms man.
yeah, phone's best bet, done a lil knife training, but not a specialist.
already called insurance to put up metal bars though. they be here tomorrow.
realisiticly speakling defnietly not 100% i can defend against a knife, not to mention another firearm, that means i dont stand a chance...

I will comply with what they need, but if they still cut me after that, hell... i take my chances. hope nothing happens here, prepare for the worst, that's what i want to do and all i want to do.

      thanks again guys.

Just goes to show gun control doesn't work. When they outlaw guns then only outlaws will have them. You are a sitting duck when you are unarmed and the bad guys got firearms. Write to your local politicians. How is the underground gun market their mate?

no idea about the gun market here mate, dont know no friends that own guns.

i could write to counsel, but thats not going to stop anyone from robbing everyone.

i believe theres no losing in training, so that i'll do.
i'll be staying in the shop for the next month.
