neither did mine. I decided to play football and lacrosse instead. Take a contact sport to supplement your martial arts and combat sport training. It'll help your conditioning and probably add to everything you learn at a martial arts school.

Do football, train muay thai and a grappling art if you want to be a good fighter.
If you want great self defense stuff too...look for a jkd school that will teach you muay thai, a grappling art, jkd concepts, and the fma. That is the ideal. That is what you want. You will be a well rounded fighter, just don't try to seperate out the arts, learn to transition between ranges and you'll be set.

Technically MMA and Jeet Kun Do are the same thing. But i know what you mean.

I would say, if your honestly looking to defend yourself in a real fight, where your life could be in danger, i would go with jeet kun do hands down. Infact i wouldn't take anything that did not focus on kicking someone in the nuts, jabbing there throat and gouging out there eyes.

If i wanted to get into shape and learn fighting as i was going alone, i would defently go with mixed martial arts.

MMA. At that age you're feeling insecure about wanting to know how to "fight." "Fighting" at that age means some dude at a party wants to scrap one on one in the back yard. MMA fits the bill for that. For one on one non-lethal "fighting" I like a focus on BJJ and then boxing second.

When you get older you might want something more oriented toward a different "fight" like the kind where someone is attempting to take something from you, including your life.

Didn't even spell the goddamn name right. Where the **** do these people come from? Spring out from under rocks, or wriggle themselves out of the wood like some type of carniverous goddamned earwig larva?
