Airsoft recommendation? Darrian? Mike B? Anyone else?

Hey guys, title pretty much says it? I want realistic weight, most realistic operation available, if possible.. Then again, price can be an issue too. Maybe you could suggest a couple different price points? I'd kind of like something rugged, if that exists? I know I'm going to be wearing goggles and trying to slap it out of a training partners hands and stop him from drawing it and lots of other stuff, so it may whack some gym mats (I don't have mats yet.. but will probably save "smacking it to the ground" until they arrive) and other assorted games and drills.

Do any airsoft guns have the ability to mimic the gun jumping? how would they even do that? a downspout at the barrel tip, maybe? It would be a lot better item if they could make the gun jump somehow.

Anyway - any recommendations appreciated. Don't feel a need to go through too much trouble, but a little guidance is appreciated. So which airsoft should I spend exorbitant amounts of cash on just to find out that I get shot everytime I try to slap it down or stop him from drawing?

You know, one of the most important things for me would be an expensive trigger pull .. maybe an airsoft that has the trigger pull from an actual name brand hand gun.. I always liked Ruger when I was hunting squirrel, deer and turkey...

I do think "street fighting" is something relatively insecure guys spend most of their time thinking about. Yeah.

But, as I stated several times, bro, I grew up with firearms, I support their ownership, and I'm aware that they exist.

I like to train. It's fun. I like the games. I like the struggle. Today I have a black eye, and I have an interview tomorrow. That's how I've been living - because I like the games. If you try to pick a fight with me, I'm going to tell you I can already see that I don't have much of a chance, and ask if I can buy you a drink. That's how I'm living it. And I'm a grinning dude as I walk around - Cause I'm loving it. Cause if I can somehow KEEP FROM hitting you in the face, when you're begging for it, I've scored a touchdown. The angels sing, the choirs dance, zeus shoots some lightning bolts up cupids ass.. It's a great old time.

And there is a question that has always existed in movies, in books, in bars and break rooms - can you have any chance if he has a gun?

For instance, we don't teach people knife techniques. We do teach some defensive options when you can't get away from someone with a knife, and you've already likely been stabbed at least once. A real life prison shanking, for the most part, where someone has hit you from behind at least once already, and you don't have a chance to run anymore.

But I don't really teach people to use knives. We'll do some stickfighting now and then. We do some boxing / clinch / groundfighting Etc. You've heard my ideas about how all this translates readily enough to knifing people, and no need to train it.. It's just not where we focus our energy. Call me naive and stupid or whatever - I'm fine with that. We have a good time.

But, all that said, I still have questions about whether I can knock a gun out of someone's hand - and when it's possible - and not at all possible - and maybe sometimes possible. I think that would be fun.


But I still don't sit around and think about street fights. That sounds like a fairly insecure thing to think about. That's all.

Get the Airsoft of the gun you carry or the gun you own or train with. Get the green gas (propane) though extreme weather (cold or heat) effect them they are best in my oppinon.

I own 4 KWA G19s, 2 KWA G23s, an AR15 and a AK47. They run a little over a $100 for the pistols and & $200 for the rifles, but a great way to train in your garage or do FonF with friends or training partners. Mine usury last a year of hard work before they need to be replaced.

HOLY SHIT Bodhi, you answered a question!! I have been ribbing you yeah, mercilessly, only because we’d like to hear some input. But, in my attempts to draw you into some dialogue, I have ended up sniping on your posts, so who am I to say anything. And here we are, good to talk to you at last.

As I have posted several times, I am a big supporter of the SBG culture and mentality – so I think you are neither stupid nor naïve. I spent years waving pretend weapons around and doing all the “hardcore” street stuff, watching my back and being a hardman. It is neither a healthy nor a happy life. I now train as an athlete in a combat sport, and of course the irony is I feel more comfortable in my ability than ever. That said though, I still see the worth of a training approach outside of combat athletics, and believe your mentality does have to be adapted to fit specific scenarios.

Anyway, yes, I have a Beretta 92F CO2 Airsoft, full size and weight. It has proven invaluable in training over the years, especially in distance drills where someone has to draw the gun, take off the safety, aim, and fire before you can get in and control them. Many students who have never handled a gun before are very surprised by the weight, feel, and the skill it can take to effectively use a handgun at short range. It has also been very useful for showing that a lot of people’s perceptions about “disarming” a gun are horseshit, lots of tiny little ball bearing shaped bruises on students does the trick there. In terms of the kick back, with the CO2 powered airsoft you get a tiny amount due to the air pressure but its negligible if you have a good grip. I haven’t come across one that has any form of effective kick back, but I’ll be honest that I am not an expert.

I don't mind sniping in the least. So long as no one is mean enough to send anyone home crying - it's just fine. I consider most of the people in life who rib me to be friends. Why be all kissy all of the time? Make me laugh at myself - I prize people who can do that.

training gun disarms or dissimilar weapons

Nothing will break an Airsoft faster than doing disarms with them. I suggest investing blue guns... plastic/rubber for this type of work. Or take it down anotch or two if you must use airsofts.

I tried the cheapo's too. But they broke so frequently that I figured they werent any cheaper than the more expensive ones. Like I said I get a year to a year and a half with hard work with mine, I don't thinklyou can expect much more out of them than that. Though, I have had them break after a weak too. But Airsoft Atalanta replaced it with no problem. That is why I use them...pretty good constumer service in my experience with them.
