i worked a later shift this evening. when i met up with my boss at the place we were going to do some work, i saw that he had a small cut across the side of his face. so i asked him were he got that from.
we do some work for a youth detention center sometimes at nights. my boss was there earlier in the day setting it all up with the facilities people and getting the keys. when he returns to his cars, he sees that someone is going through the back of it, and his work laptop is sitting on the ground. surprised, my boss says what the hell is going on here?? as he says that, the man going through his car turns to him and throws a punch. my boss had done tkd for over 20 years, and blocks the guys strike the best he can, and the guy takes off running. my boss then realizes that the guy must have had a blade in his hand when he realizes that his face is bleeding. it wasnt a bad cut, a small one that didnt require a trip to the hospital. if he hadnt blocked it, it most likely would have been way worse. but anyway, he gets a hold of one of the cops working at the detention center, who asks my boss why he didnt chase the guy down
my boss is a good man, luckily he wasnt hurt. and tkd may have saved his life.
whats amazing is that this took place in the parking lot right outside a youth detention center that is built strategically on top of a hill, were there are cops and firefighters on patrol 24 hours a day. some people just dont care at all, you arent even safe in places were law enforcement is stationed at.
