  • Tactical Krav Maga

    Hi All,

Just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this training organisation.

They are called Tactical Krav Maga, seem to have some international classes, wondering if that would damage the quality of training that they produce? Anyway link is Tactical Krav Maga - Australia and International Tactical Krav Maga College P/L

I was looking at this class more specifically www.swstraining.com.au

    Cheers,

Chuck the word "tactical" in front of any MA and see how much better it makes it sound.

Tactical Tai Chi or Tactical Origami anyone?

"Combat" or "Modern" are also options if you are that interested in marketing.

For myself, I think I would stay away from anything that tried to put such an emphasis on attracting students.

This sets off real red flags with me.

Only Carl Halley Chief Instructor International Tactical Krav Maga College can Issue Authentic Tactical Krav Maga Instructor certification.
In short, this guy is riding on the coattails of Krav Maga. Everything they can claim he can benefit from. But because he has his own system in which he tacked the term "tactical" onto, it is his copyright and only he can give certification in it. He gets to have his own system while taking credit for everything you can say about Krav.

This is not something I would look for in a teacher. It seems a bit wrong to me.

            good points darth.

Looks like they get some good guest instructors to their seminars but smells and looks a bit like a lemon.

Sydney sucks for Martial Arts training...

Are you interested in WWII combatives like what Applegate did?

I know someone in Australia, near Adelaide I think. IIRC, he is part of a national organization and might know more about the situation in Sydney. It probably would not be a big group, easy to find or advertised.

think i am going to go through the Budo-Jitsu system.

They have a video up on youtube, looks similar to Krav with some obvious differences. Have read good things about it as well, which is always a plus
