      The problem I have with this line of thought, the whole "it's not the style it's the person", is only partially true. While it is true it's up to the individual to train hard, if the style is garbage from the get-go, training can even become detrimental. You might be able to "make it work", but you shouldn't have to when there are available effective styles out there with proven results.

      To many martial artists use this "there is no bad style" as an excuse. There are bad styles, just as there are bad teachers and students. Of course, I'm sure this dead horse has been beaten more times than an aikido student in a bad neighborhood, so let's go back to discussing scb's ged.
