Ok here we go. Kicking is great for SD, if you know how to kick for SD. It is different from sport kicking. There are plenty of effective targets that will easily end the fight fast. Inside and outside of the knee and the inner thigh are great targets. The groin solar plexus and under the chiin are also easy and effective for SD.the kick can also be magnified depending on your foot wear at the time.
Now about the thai kick. Its more of a specialized kick. The videos you see on youtube of people breaking their legs on other peoples legs is because they had poor execution of technique. The shin bone itsself is already a very hard bone. For every video u can show of someone breaking their leg with that kick I can show you 5 videos of that same kick breaking baseball bats and cinder blocks. So its not the kick but how its done.
Obviously if you were going to get into a fight you know the terrain you are standing on. So logically you wouldn't. Try to kick on ice, genius.
In conclusion you all need more time in the dojo/kwoon/dojang/gym/backyard whatever. Each system has their own way of doing thing and that doesn't mean that they are wrong or anyone is right. Fighting is based on the moment. Move freely and f**k shit up.

I have a video of me choking a dude in a Casino......he was a parolee and he ran from me while I was putting on the cuffs. Does that count? I also have videos of me training too.

There are threads about you eating a sandwich and riding in a taxi? Must have missed those.

What kind of sandwich was it?

Lets see some video from your "hood" sounds like it would be easy to get.
