I was just curious how this is everywhere. When I competed as a high schooler in underbelt divisions (back in 2000-2003) there was usually 2-3 of us girls in my division, sometimes 4 if I was lucky.
Now I'm getting ready to do my first tournament in 8 years next month, as an adult and in black belt division. I've heard from the other adults in my school that when they've gone to the local tournaments they are lucky if there's one other female in their age and rank.
So for just throwing this out there as a general question, what age range and belt rank do you compete in and how many other females do you usually have in your division on average? (This question is not just about sparring, any of the categories)
