I don't understand how you could possibly condone something as vicious as this seems to be? You said:

This is absolutely insane! This isn't self defense! This was actually an underhanded cheep-shot! It was blatently excessive and clearly uncalled for! Given that the incident happened in a public place, I think she could have found a better way of dealing with this guy. Nevertheless, it seems to me that the guy has a good case against her if he decides to press criminal charges......and I hope that he did. The guy obviously didn't grab her with any degree of force, because if he had then she'd never have been able to straighten out his arm and dislocate his elbow. Personally, I hope that the cops hauled her ass down to the station, booked her, and then threw her ass in jail! This women really should take the time to re-evaluate her strategy for dealing with unwanted advances. If not, then she'll be signing her paycheck over to every unfortunate Tom Dick and Harry that makes the mistake of trying to hit on her.......

Women need to learn practical responses that are appropiate in relation to the severity of the situation. We're doing women a big disservice by glorifying this type of overzealous reaction to a relatively benign advance. We're helping them alright.....we're helping them right into the women's state correction facility!

yes exactly you have big girls and big boys.. you have small girls.. small boys.. instead of saying that girls are weak, what about trying: persons with less physical strenght than the average person has a more difficult time defending him/herself against a larger and stronger opponent.. which i think, would go without saying.. but aren't our training about leveling out these differences? giving us better odds? One problem i know of with boys are that almost no matter how angry they are, they don't kick you in the balls.. they can crush your face, and they can kick you in the face.. but balls? seldom.. girls don't have this limit:P

Are you serious? I know your Mr nice guy but you condone someone assulting another. Grabbing another person is legally assult, and she may have felt she was in danger. A woman/man does not have to wait to be beat before they defend themself, you do not have to scream for help to see if someone will help you before your attacker hurts you. And you can straighten a persons arm that has grabbed you tightly.

What you say is fine and dandy provided she doesn't mind explaining her actions in court. The fact of the matter is that people have gone to jail for less -- and rightfully so! Legally, her response should be in proportion with the level of attack, and assuming that she has some MA training, than she was way out of bounds. That doesn't mean that I condone someone assaulting another, but I do have a big problem seeing someone brutally and deliberately injured because he got a bit to flirtatious, or even pushy. She could have, and should have found a better way of getting rid of the guy. She obviously attacked a guy who didn't display any violent intentions! How can you possibly try to defend that?

My guess is that you must know some pretty strong women, because I've never met a women who could pull off that kind of move on a guy who was seriously attacking her. Judging by the way Brokenmace described the incident, it should be obvious to you that this one was way off the the charts. I think you've been watching too many kung-fu movies.

OK, I can agree with what you are saying here. It could be hard for a female do that in an aggressive attack, as well some men too. And as you said, if the guy was innocently flirting and the lady hurt him as described then that would be uncalled for. Each situation needs to be dealt with in a proper manner.

Miled mannered 27 year old women, mother of 2, hard working, married, 125 pounds, Got mugged once few years ago.. . matter of fact, she takes kempo for 5 years and is almost a black belt. confidence boosted. 33 years of age now.. still living the average life... what do americans in general .. in our society of hard working regular people know about Guns, knives, attacks, and just the hard ships of the world and about the other side of the tracks?



Ill mannered, 27 year old 145 pound, ex convict, father of 5, with diffrent women, doesn't work, been in a prison, worked out all his life and street fighting is nothing new, robs people and occationally rapes women. not to heavy but he's real strong. for 5 years is down on his luck.. desides to rob some unlucky lady..


guess who he desides to rob?

Ex convict desides to to strike.. tells lady to give up the dough.. she stands tall and gets in fighting position. convict faints a punch with his left, women out of reaction moves her hand to block that hand but gets caught with a devistating right! she's down.. madman takes all her loot. the adreanline in her body kicks in but she's still dazed.. man over powers her, totally.. rapes her.. she is helpless with more strikes to her face and body.

Generally speaking, you're absolutely right. Not many women can take the best shot that most guys can dish out, but for that matter, most guys can't take it either; especially if the guy hitting him is bigger. On the other hand, most guys couldn't take a direct shot to the throat from a 12 year old girl! So where does that leave us?

The fact of the matter is that you don't have to look very far in order to find stories of women who have been able to fight off muggers and rapists; and sometimes even injure the scum bags!
The reason why some women can escape being assaulted has nothing to do with their ability, or inability, to take a punch. It happens because the world if full of stupid criminals who automatically assume that no women would dare resist them. For some reason, these imbeciles often aren't mentally prepared to meet force with greater force when they finally do pick on a women who will actually fight back. As you might guess, the outcome is often that these idiots ar forced to either run away, or else they find themselves down on the pavement with a ladies stiletto heal stuck right up their asses!

As I'm sure you can see, all the punching power in the world is totally useless if the dumb miscreant is afraid to actually fight with the women that he's trying to violate!
