  • Does Anyone Remember These

About 20 years ago, Shotgun News had 2 really neat weapons they advertised specifically for women. One was a wrist-watch Taser, the idea being just hug your assailant in to yourself and zap them. The other thing was a spike-device that laced into your shoes atop the tongue, and you could kick someone in the calf muscle or thigh with your instep and gouge the hell out of them. The wrist watch Tazer seemed really cool to me, I wish I had bought one. The spikes should be easy to make at home. Also, just as a side note, a student who was in the Air Force told me they issued women a ring which would save a DNA sample from whomever was slapped with it. That also sounds pretty neat, and I wonder if it might be available to the public.
    Keep training, everybody!

A few months ago I ran across a company selling some kind of Tazer ring and also an OC ring.

Not sure about how the Tazer ring worked, I'd think it'd have trouble getting enough juice. But the OC ring seems like a decent Idea.

I'm waiting for one of those james bond wrist watches.

.....tazers,illegal, pepper spray with CS military tear gas*, illegal.... where do you guys live that you can legally get your hands on all the good stuff???.......colleague has a nephew almost car jacked coming of a club , gets the perp above the eye with his keys and the cops tell him he's lucky he didn't damage the perp's eye....what is this world coming to...please are there any MA practicing defense lawyers out there that can tell me what the h*ll is going on??? If you choose to engage someone and you lose it's your own d*mn fault!

*(tried to order the stuff on-line and was denied, I called the company and the guy there told me he couldn't ship it, if I used it on someone and they were injured as a result, the defense attorney would have a field day! I said if someone tried to knife me, a lawsuit would be the least of my concerns....but go figure!!!!)

Never thanked you for passing on the 411 about that site. I still can't get my hands on a lot of things legally, but no matter, it's a good site. Thank you!

i find it rather absurd how advocacy groups (at least where i am) are always whinning about the "human rights" of murderers, rapists, thieves, kidnappers, and the like.

it's almost stupid and begs the question why, in a life-threatening situation, must one worry about the human rights of the assailant.

onw wordon tazers, stun guns ect. learn about electricity first how circuits work. and weather or enviorment conditions. when i was on a middle east deployment in 1993 i was on a boarding team. another team had been issued stun guns as part of their kit, when he used the device both he and his openent were taken out because they were in the same puddle of water....same goes for using chemicals if the wind is to your face...ect...no amount of h2h or armed defence can help you if you are stupid.

Loompanics Unlimited is a pretty interesting company/website, although they used to be easier to access, and had a different (I won't say better) product line. Also, a lot of useful information can be found in old Whole Earth Catalogs, more as a place to begin research nowadays, rather than the nous plus ultra it used to be.
