  • Women Stronger than Men

Has anyone noticed that there are state wrestling champions who are girls in boys divisions? Has anyone noticed how women are winning more and more titles and matches than men? We men have to face the truth. Women are just getting stronger and soon enough they be even stronger than us men.

Wrestling isn't all about strength. Techinques and agility and conditioning play a major part. I think the most determined wrestler is going to win. You also have to remember there are weight-classes. In wrestling, you never wrestle someone significantly bigger than you except in heavyweight. I think whatever you're talking about is bunk.

But I still think women can compete with men. They just have to use different advantages. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, it's all a matter of who exploits who.

And if average joe runs 4 miles a week and practices twice a week, I am sure super-woman who runs 4 miles a day and practices twice a day could whoop him.

In order for your claim to be true it would require one of two things to happen: either human sexual dimorphism would have to be evolving in the opposite direction at a very fast rate or there would have to be androgens in the environment that worked specifically on females and not males. There is a third possibility with some support to it--namely there are estrogen mimicking compounds in the environment that are feminizing males. The effect of these compounds is not fully understood, but they do not seem to be affecting male secondary sexual characteristics (such as increased muscle mass relative to females). They are primarily lowering sperm counts.

Let us look at the first possibility I mentioned. Are human populations being selected for more masculine females? You are arguing that male-like females are quickly replacing more feminine females in the population. This would require, firstly, that masculine females had vastly outreproduced non-masculine females in the last couple of generations. Since very few men are apparently attracted to very masculine females, we can rule out natural selection. Humans females are not evolving to be stronger and more masculine.

The second possibility I mentioned was androgenizing hormones--there is some evidence of this. BGH in milk may have some effects on human muscle growth. But, your hypothesis would mean that females consume milk at a higher rate than males. I don't have any data, but intuitively this seems wrong. If females were getting stronger due to adrogens in the environment, then males would get stronger as well being in the same environment. I'd say the adrogen hypothesis cannot account for the phenomena you are describing.

Since biologically what you have described is totally implausible, we are left with what is likely a cultural phenomena. I hypothesize that the metrosexualization and pussification of the American male is what is responsible for chicks beating guys at wrestling. Even within a weight division, given equal training and skill this should never happen. Men have more muscle fibers per unit area on average. Given equal skills and conditioning, within a weight class, male wrestlers should be stronger, and therefore have an advantage over female wrestlers. That is biological fact. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is going to continue producing a generation of pussy boys that will let girls whip their asses. That is your culprit, not a gain in strength in females.

i remember a thread like this came up a little while ago.

the example was of two girl wrestlers who where state champs!

.........but there a catch it was in the 100 lbs weight division!!!! the girl was a senior in highschool.

Varsity sports are to blame lol. No "man" weighs 100 lbs.....(at least in north america...bunch o fatties we are.)

so queer eye for the strate guy is not to blame. Its as simple as young women, around 17-18 years of age, are beating on 10-13 year old kids. Kids who sometimes cry when they lose (i think that was a quote in one of the articels lol)

(im to lazy to find the other thread.....)

but yes, i think some women can compete with men. But as far as pure strength, or the area's where endurance is needed just as much as skill.......women will be hard pressed to keep up.

get a sport where it is ONLY skill (billiards, darts) women and men are on equal ground.
