from self discipline , development and self improvement in the 3rd to9th century Bando went to self defense, gaurd and self protection and against internal threats...external threats and psychic threats. then by the 20th century Bando is now self defense.

To the West African soldiers who faught the Burma campaign Bando was to mean "to take revenge" ..Amoung the Gurkha warriors..surprise attack...quick kill.
The traditional name for Burmese martial arts is Bama Thaing, Kachin Thaing, Kayin Thaing, Shan Thaing and so on....
