Hi all -

I decided I would join the forums. I have been studying Aikido in Spokane for a few years now - www.aikidospokane.com - and I had some kickboxing experience too. I was hoping to connect with others about general martial arts topics.

seriously though...it's good to have you, hope you have thick skin, because the people around here like to bust each others balls...it's all in good fun, but many people who post here are absolute experts in their particular fields of martial study. Enjoy, and hajimemashite.

Tough skin? Dude, I nothin' but one big calous. Hell, if it's one thing you learn on any forum as an aikido guy, it's that you're gonna get flamed from a whole lotta' guys - especially if they only tried the art for a few months and it wasn't their thing.

Myself, I have trained with a lot of others who have trained in other arts before and I have a lot of respect for them. There have only been a few that I've thought weren't right, but that was mostly just the particular instructor/student and that particular dojo. The oddest guy was one who came in for practice one day as a beginner and afterwards I remarked that he must've had some previous experience and asked what it was. He said he 'didn't like to talk about it' and we never saw him again. Weird dude.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome!
