Hey everyone.
Just to get this out of the way, I'm not a fighter. I've never been in a fight, and I hope I never will be. I'mnot a violent person at all, and I'm pretty good at talking my way out of situations and running fast. If you saw me on the street, you'd probably be pretty convinced you could take me. And most of you probably could.
However, I've always had an interest in Martial Arts. I'm more of a JKD guy, myself, but I watch and appreciate MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai, and even enjoy the karate, TKD competitions I occasionally see. I was small as a kid (still fairly skinny, but taller), and I was unsure of when I'd get my growth spurt, so I decided martial arts would help me protect myself until I packed on some beef (never really happened).
My older brothers both took years and years of various martial arts, but my parents never thought I should sign up for it. They figured I'd be a doctor or something, I guess. One day, though, my older brother took me to a JKD class, and I loved it. Unfortunately, I was 14 and dumb, so I simply called Sifu "Sifu" and never learned his name. He was a reserve in the army and got called in to Iraq, or so I hear, and he trained with Dan Inosanto. Not sure if he is well-known or not.
Anyway, since then I trained very briefly with Dennis "The Pirhana" Davis in MMA, and I'll be starting FMA with my friend's dad soon. Though I've been keeping my eyes open for another JKD place here in Vegas.
Well, that's me. Looking forward to meeting, and learning from, all of you.
